Welcome to Equine Restore
Equine Restore Veterinary Physiotherapy provides a mobile service that comes to your yard to provide assessment and treatment of your horse.
Our aim is to be as holistic as possible as every case is different. Juliet has a range of Physiotherapy skills as well as Equine knowledge from having worked with horses since the age of 16, and being a rider and competitor herself.
We are based in Suffolk and cover all of Suffolk and North Essex.
Juliet O’Brien Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy, ACPAT (Cat A) is an experienced Human Physiotherapist who has chosen to specialise in Veterinary Physiotherapy. She qualified at the Royal Veterinary College and continues to take many other courses, both Human and Equine, to ensure she is up to date with her training to ensure your horse has the best possible care.
Juliet always works with Veterinary consent and will work closely with Veterinary Surgeons and other professionals to achieve the best outcome for your horse.
For anyone who has not done carrot stretches before….or for those who need a little reminder to do them! If you need an idea of where to start….Ari the horse in the Video is an expert but I suggest if doing these for the first time you have someone hold your horse for you on a non slip surface.
If your horse has never done these before they may not stretch round all the way to begin with as this takes confidence in what you are doing, (horse and handler!) strength and stability.
Any concerns about your horse then consult your Vet/Therapist.
So why do them?
- Keeps your horse supple
- Stretches topline
- Builds muscle
- Allows you to see your horses normal way of moving and how far and note any changes quickly
- Beneficial for ridden and non ridden horses
- These are nice basic ones but there are more!
I’ve had Juliet treating Pippa regularly for a few years now and the difference in her is incredible. She moves so much better and this is showing in our increased dressage scores. Juliet is so lovely and always available if I have any questions or problems in between visits (although I’m yet to have any!). She really cares about how Pippa and I get on and I owe a lot of our successes to Juliet. Thank you so much!
